Day 2 - 27 Feb

 Lie in, aching and knackered

Make a decision on Museum of Illusion, Planetarium and the Carlsberg brewery.
First order of business is brekkie. Go for Maccies at the Central station. Don't get to sample their brekkiescas it's well gone 11. So it's chicken and cheeseburgers all round. My only concession is ginger tea and lemon.

Museum of illusion is brilliant. The vortex tunnel initiates motion sickness in me and Maisie. The boy is fine.

In so long there's no time for planetarium so we hunt down a pastry shop. Only Myles has one, Maisie has a croissant and I abstain.

We're booked in at the brewery at 3 and it's lucky we check the location as it's actually 25 mins away on the S train and walking at either end.

As we give ourselves plenty of time, we arrive 25 mins ahead of our booking time. As luck would have it there's a fussball table in the courtyard so I give the kids a lesson until it is time to tour.

The tour is excellent with lots of interactive activities and beer at the start and finish! Visit horses, kids play fussball again and we finish in the gift shop. There is a daily competition to guess a word with a beer for the first to get it right. Naturally we cheat and are very confident as the crossword finisher only comes up with one solution. Smugly we head to hand out answer in to be told that it's good but not right. Maisie is outraged that our cheating has not borne fruit, but what can we do?

Time for dinner. Lots of wandering and options being dismissed results in a tray full of Kentucky's finest.

Back to hostel for pool, shufflebaord and a lesson in fussball.

Day 3 - 28 Feb

We awake with plenty of time to get ready before checkout. Showers, parking and rest in enough time to find some breakfast before getting the train to the zoo. 7-Eleven comes up trumps again with pizza slices and paninis. It is a five-stop journey on the s train followed by a walk of just less than a mile to the zoo. The Copenhagen card runs out at 12:20, so we're hear in plenty of time to get free entry. Flamingos polar bears seals all entertaining in the primate house. Watch baboons grooming and fighting. In the next enclosure a morning mother is carrying around her stillborn baby which is apparently part of the mourning process. Day 1 - 26 Feb

It is a 03:00 wake up for the journey to the airport and I have set 2 alarms, 5 minutes apart, just in case. Kids do not need much prodding and soon everyone is awake, dressed and in the car. Early flights are a pain in terms of getting up but they have the benefits of giving you extra time in your chosen destination and traffic free roads for the journey for the airport. The latter takes away so much worry about making it to your flight on time. In this case, all went well and, in plenty of time, we are parked up, through security and in the departure lounge in plenty of time. First up is breakfast and kids decide on Burger King. Their ordering screen is a bit confusing for, the eternally fussy, Myles who never accepts what is on his burger. The screen offers choices but they seem to be back to front to what we are used to.
